Android Nougat: How to Enable Hidden Navigation Bar Tweaks

With the final release of Android Nougat, Google has introduced some new features but it has also removed some of the features that were in the developer preview. One that many people really enjoyed was the nav bar tuner. XDA user AL_IRAQI has created a flashable zip that allows you to get that feature back.

To see written instructions on how to download and flash this mod, check out this thread.

To enable the system UI setting, press and hold the setting icon in your notifications menu until you feel it vibrate.

Now you’ll see a menu for your system UI tuner in your settings. In this menu you’ll find options for the night mode feature and the nav bar. You can modify the buttons on your nav bar and even specify the amount of space in between them.

This, of course, will begin with the company’s upcoming flagship, the Honor 8, but it can be uninstalled so it will not be hogging up your system resources.

Android 7.0 Build Runs on the Raspberry Pi 3

Some nexus devices haven’t even received their Android 7.0 OTA update and yet there’s already a build available for the Raspberry Pi 3. The build looks stable, and the only issue we’re shown in the video is the Settings page crashing when you try to go into the About Tablet section. They’ve even got the source code available right here on GitHub.

Google is Shutting Down its Device Assist App

Google launched their Device Assist application back in 2014 as a way for Android One, Nexus and Google Play Edition devices to troubleshoot issues and receive various Android tips. It’s unclear why the company is making this change (although it’s likely because so few people use it), but the app is no longer available in the Play Store and it’s not displaying any tips anymore.
