OPPO R11s and R11s Plus Launched with 18:9 Display, Snapdragon 660 SoC and Improved Cameras

Chinese smartphone OEM OPPO has launched two new smartphones in China with the release of the Oppo R11s and R11s Plus. These devices are refreshed versions of the OPPO R11 and R11 Plus, which were launched back in June of this year. The main highlights of the OPPO R11s and R11s Plus are their large,  bezel-less displays, both featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio with very small top and bottom bezels.

The OPPO R11s sports a 6.01-inch FullHD+ AMOLED panel from Samsung with an 85.8% screen-to-body ratio and a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080. Moving on to optics, the dual camera setup on the OPPO R11s is comprised of 20MP + 16MP sensors with both sensors utilizing f/1.7 aperture and a large 2µm pixel size for better low-light performance. The front camera is a 20MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and the company is throwing in features like AI Beauty, portrait mode and scene detection for an enhanced selfie experience.

Under-the-hood, the OPPO R11s is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage. On the software side, both devices ship with Color OS 3.2 (based on Android 7.1.1) which brings along many new features such as split-screen mode, face unlock, a game acceleration mode, smart gallery and more.

The OPPO R11s Plus is same as the R11s, except it sports a larger 6.43-inch display, a bigger 4,000 mAh battery and 6GB of RAM.

Other specs include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 4.2, dualSIM support, and a microSD card slot. Unfortunately, there is no USB Type-C on board but on the flip side, you still get a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The OPPO R11s and R11s Plus are now available for pre-order in China for CNY 2999 and CNY 3699, respectively. The OPPO R11s will be available for purchase on November 10 while the OPPO R11s Plus will go on sale on November 24. As for international availability, both devices will hit Taiwan and Singapore later this year, and will become available in other markets next year.
