The Pixel 3 XL has certainly not been a shy device. We’ve seen it from every angle, in multiple colors, on video, and in its packaging. There’s not much left to learn about this device. However, one thing we haven’t seen yet is sample photos. The camera is a very big part of what makes the Pixel phones so great, and now we can see how the camera performs on the Pixel 3 XL.
These sample photos are from Russian tech blog Rozetked. They show off the packaging of the devices as well, which matches up with the previous leaks. Somehow, Google misplaced a batch of Pixel 3 XLs, because this is now the second time we’ve seen a final production unit in the wild. One thing to keep in mind: the EXIF data has been scrubbed from these photos. It does seem that he has the actual device, but we can’t officially confirm that these photos were taken with the Pixel 3 XL. This also appears to be early software for the camera as some of the photos look overcooked.
One other new thing has been shown off: wireless charging. We’ve known for a while that it’s very likely the Pixel 3 will have wireless charging. We discovered references to a “Pixel Stand,” and Android P Beta 2 hinted at support for wireless charging stands. Now we can see an actual video of the Pixel 3 XL being placed on a wireless charger and charging.

Google seems to have seriously screwed up somehow. We’re still over a month away from the October hardware event, and there’s almost nothing left to confirm about the Pixel 3 XL. The smaller Pixel 3, on the other hand, hasn’t shown up nearly as much. What are your thoughts on these sample photos? Are they as good as you expected? Are you excited about wireless charging?
