Google Stadia adds 3 RPGs: The Elder Scrolls: Online, Windbound, and Cris Tales, drops Premiere Edition price to $99

Google is adding new games to Stadia nearly every week. This week, the company is starting with three new RPGs, including The Elder Scrolls: Online. In addition, the cost of the Stadia Premiere Edition starter kit has been dropped to $99 following the end of the 3-month Pro trial.

The Elder Scrolls: Online is the first MMORPG on Stadia and it’s free for Pro subscribers. We’ve known the game was coming to Stadia for a long time, but the game is finally available today. It includes the Morrowind Chapter as free add-on content and supports cross-progression and cross-play with PC and Mac.

The next new game announced is an RPG called Windbound. This game puts you in the role of a warrior caught at sea in a storm and adrift from your tribe. You crash on a mysterious island and you must explore, adapt, and navigate the land and perilous seas to stay alive. Windbound is coming to Stadia on August 28th.

Lastly, a JRPG called Cris Tales is coming to Stadia on November 17th. This game is billed as “A Love Letter to Classic JRPGs” and it deals with viewing time in different ways. Your character can peer into the past, act in the present, and watch as choices change the future. It features 2D hand-drawn animation.

As mentioned above, the Stadia Premiere Edition starter kit is now only $99 (a $30 discount down from $129). The kit includes the Wi-Fi enabled Stadia controller and a Chromecast Ultra (a savings of $40 if purchased separately). Google has also opened up one-month free Pro trials to all new users.

Google has proven its commitment to its fledgling cloud gaming platform, but the platform really needs heavy hitters to draw in new users. The Elder Scrolls: Online is a good addition to the platform with hopefully more to come soon.
