HTC One X9 Renders Leak Online

HTC-One-X9-2

The HTC One X9 has been garnering a lot of attention recently, for it is the next device to be released after the HTC One A9. The One A9 created its fair share of controversy when it came to design, so it was expected that all eyes would be set on the new release just to see HTC’s newly adopted design language.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the renders!

First up, this image comes to us courtesy of Chinese regulatory authority, TENAA. The new One X9 builds up on the path set up by the One A9 as it features a similar metallic body. The front does see some changes, as the front facing speakers make a return. The highly criticized HTC logo which is usually present below the screen has been repositioned towards the top.

The second set of images come from Chinese website, cnmo. These images line up perfectly with the TENAA certification, and offer a much more comprehensive look at the device.

From the looks of it, the One X9 sports a microUSB port and not a USB Type C. We would have liked a port that is future=oriented, but keeping in mind the rest of the specs, a microUSB port will not be the worst part of the device.

The One X9 is being called a mix between the One A9 and a Nexus 6P, thanks to the visor seen above. However, it won’t be the first time an HTC device sports a visor as there have been devices from HTC in the past which sported a wide visor like the HTC Desire S (pictured).

What about the specs, you ask? The One X9 is not meant as a device for the pole-position. It will come with a 5.5″ IPS FHD display, and will be powered by a 2.2 GHZ octa-core processor. Exact model or company of the processor is unknown at this stage, but it is likely a MediaTek processor as see on some 2015 HTC devices. The device will have 2GB or RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, with a microSD card slot for expansion. For the cameras, it will feature a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Powering all of it up is a 3,000 mAh battery, which will most likely be non-removable.

The most surprising of specifications for the One X9 has to be the OS: reportedly, the device will ship with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. We feverishly hope that this won’t be the case, as it makes no sense for an early 2016 device to be running Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

More information about the device should be available soon as we inch closer to an imminent release.

What do you think about the One X9? Does it pique your curiosity enough to become worthy of a future purchase? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
